BEYOND HIV CARE AND TREATMENT

Patient care is done in our multi-specialty, integrated services agency. The Dr. George Perez Medical Care Center, at NJCRI, is defined by compassionate and superb care, led by a skillful and dedicated team of physicians, clinicians, and staff who seek to empower those facing health disparities to live healthy, productive and independent lives.

CONFIDENTIAL AND FREE SCREENING & COUNSElING

The Counseling, Testing, and Referral Health Screening Department conducts free pre/post test counseling as well as HIV, HepC, and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) testing to individuals considered to be at risk. These services are provided at our on-site location and mobile units at no cost and completely confidential.

Many people are frightened by the idea of getting tested for HIV. Yet knowledge truly is power. It is better to know your status than to not know. For more information call (973) 412-8300.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

At NJCRI our clinical social workers practice a holistic approach to treatment which takes into account not only the individual client’s emotional and psychological makeup, but also medical, societal and environmental factors that can impact the well-being of each client.

CLINICAL TRIALS

We offer people of Northern New Jersey access to clinical trials sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, as well as government studies. Clinical Trials are research studies. They are designed to look for the best way to care for people with HIV and other illnesses. They may test new drugs or new uses for old drugs. Trials may look for the best way to treat or prevent the complications that come with HIV disease progression and the side effects these powerful drugs can cause.

A Clinical Trial is conducted by doctors and nurses who follow a set of instructions called a protocol. The protocol spells out the goal of the study, who may join the study, and how the study will be carried out.

PEDIATRICS

Over time we have witnessed a growing need for medical services for the youngest and most vulnerable members of our community. As a result, we have worked with the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey and are now proud to offer our community an Integrated Pediatric Medical Practice that provides top-notch Pediatric Wellness (e.g. physicals and vaccines),  for children in our community (ages 3–18). All program participants are eligible to participate in one of NJCRI’s many medical,support-based, and/ or community support services (e.g. food bank). NJCRI will also assist with Medicaid for eligible children, regardless of immigration status.

Led by clinicians with over a Century of combined clinical expertise and an administration with over 25 years of community-based healthcare management experience, NJCRI’s offers the care your child deserves in a location and atmosphere that embraces all children’s and family’s unique needs and strengths.
