HIV Counseling, Testing, and Referral
The HIV Counseling, Testing, and Referral department conducts free pre/post test counseling to individuals considered to be at risk for HIV/Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). This services are provided to all individuals utilizing the services at our on-site location and mobile units.
The main goal is to identify and test individuals considered at risk for HIV/STIs. The program provides collection methods for HIV screening using OraQuick Advance Rapid Testing through either oral or blood specimen and STis testing through urine and blood collection. It also identifies and ensures that all sex/needle sharing partners of HIV infected persons are confidentially notified of their exposure and all information is sent to the Notification Assistant Program (NAP) immediately. It ensures all HIV+ individual partners receive testing and counseling along with referral. All HIV+ individuals that are identifed will receive Medical Care and Case Management.
